The newest promo for American Horror Story’s sixth season not only takes a look back at the past five seasons of the hit anthology, but it also partly confirms the idea we previously reported that the new season may be based of the historical Roanoke disappearance (Did you see that forest at the end?).

Thankfully though, as we continue to decipher what this season is going to be about, we can rest easy knowing Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates and Lady Gaga are returning. The talented ladies will be joined by newcomers Cuba Gooding Jr. and Romika Annabell Osorio. The rest of the main cast still hasn’t been released as of yet. However as reported in the past, series regular Angela Bassett confirmed her involvement with the series as its first female director. Jennifer Lynch also confirmed her directing position via Instagram.

The many unique and varying trailers and promo teasers released so far have certainly kept fans guessing, and that’s entirely intentional. FX CEO John Landgraf explained, “One is accurate; all the rest are misdirect.” He continued, “We decided, Ryan and I and [marketing president] Stephanie Gibbons, that it would be really fun this year… to keep it a mystery. There is a theme and a setting and a place and time, but we’re not going to reveal it.”

But could anyone have guessed this before Landgraf confessed to the trickery? A Reddit user dubbed SMLR1 posted their theory prior to Landgraf’s statement, and to everyone’s surprise it was right on the nose! The fan’s theory was what all of the clips were meant to confuse fans, with only one revealing the actual theme of the show. After reading that and seeing what Landgraf actually said, maybe SMLR1 is the person to see for your favorite show predictions from now on… just saying!

On a related note, “American Horror Story” is coming to Universal’s Hollywood Halloween Horror Nights!

I know, I know…I can’t get up to Orlando either. But let’s bask in what other people are going to be raving about, shall we? For the first time ever, Halloween Horror Nights is going to take on AHS, resurrecting the series’ most twisted moments.

From the press release:
“…guests will venture through Ryan Murphy’s groundbreaking horror anthology, encountering a plethora of iconic scenes and memorable characters designed to jolt them to their very core. Twisted scenes from Murder House will unleash the evil spirits that possess the Harmon estate, spiraling guests through decades of the tortured dead who previously resided there. In Freak Show, guests will join a troupe of biological misfits in a sinister sideshow where they’ll be stalked by the murderous and deformed Twisty the Clown. Finally, guests will succumb to the warped desires of The Countess after checking in to the haunted Hotel Cortez, conceived from the beginning as a torture chamber for its customers.”

Well, that’s it for now. You’re now officially caught up on all the latest news for your favorite, groundbreaking television series. Before you go, be sure to check out all the awesome teaser trailers below, and let us know in the comments which one you think is the “real” one.
