Two massive fandoms collide in our spotlight series, “Marvel vs Zombies”, with lots of gore and action to satisfy both horror and superhero fans.

Back at it again for another week of Horror Comics, and today we’ll be looking at a crossover of sorts — although it doesn’t really fall into that category.

The man who brought us ‘The Walking Dead’, Robert Kirkman, teamed up with Marvel in 2006 to bring fans a mini series set in an alternate universe where your favorite superheroes become infected with a virus, causing them to become zombies. As comics typically like to do, a portal was opened, leading to said universe — leaving our living heroes forced to battle the undead.

With wonderfully unique artwork by Sean Phillips (Hellblazer, Incognito, Fatale), readers are certain to enjoy all aspects of this story, along with its several spin off mini series: ‘Marvel Zombies’ 2, 3, 4 and Returns.

Official Summary: Immediately after the events of the Ultimate Fantastic Four Crossover arc, Magneto has destroyed the portal into the Ultimate universe. He flees from the hordes of superzombies, managing to take down Hawkeye and most of Cap’s head. He’s alerted to the existence of some surviving humans on Asteroid M, but is killed and eaten by another group of zombies. After devouring him completely, Luke Cage sees something out of the corner of his eye… the Silver Surfer.

NEW THIS WEEK

A WALK THROUGH HELL
Writer: Garth Ennis
Artist: Goran Sudžuka
Publisher: Aftershock Comics

So these two FBI agents walk into a warehouse…

Special Agents Shaw and McGregor handle the routine cases nowadays, which is just the way Shaw likes it. She’s pushing 40, a borderline burnout, the ghastly memories of her last investigation still clinging like shadows. McGregor is younger, more dedicated, hanging onto some measure of idealism whatever the world might throw at him.

When two fellow agents go missing inside a Long Beach warehouse, Shaw and McGregor are sent to investigate. But what they find waiting is far from routine, as the local police have already discovered to their cost. Before the night is out, our heroes will encounter terror beyond their most appalling nightmares—in a place where the night may never end at all.

CAVEWOMAN: LYCAN RUN
Writer: Danita Mangum
Artist: Andrew Mangum
Publisher: Amryl Entertainment

Meriem encounters a clan of lycan warriors who are hellbent on claiming her as their new queen for the tribe.

Not only is Meriem having to flee from her lycan pursuers but she also faces down a hungry T-Rex.

How will this end for our Cavewoman?

CROSSED PLUS 100 MIMIC
Writers: Christos N. Gage and Patrick Shand
Artists: Emiliano Urdinola and Raulo Caceres
Publisher: Avatar Press

Crossed is back with a giant-size new series! The world of Crossed +100 was created by Alan Moore and introduced us to an entire civilization and language set one hundred years after the Crossed outbreak devoured humanity.

Now Christos Gage delves into that future with MIMIC, as one of Beau Salt’s disciples invades a military base to pick apart the best and brightest. Each issue also has a second feature as writer Pat Shand teams up with artist Raulo Caceres to deliver a chapter of AMERICAN HISTORY X, based on the events Moore spotlighted as key points in the saga.
