Reheat the turkey and join us, along with our special guests, for some movie talk, including a look at Bruce Campbell’s “Black Friday”.

EPISODE SUMMARY
It is a big week as Regina gets a second chance and Ariel and Candance from the Not Your Final Girl Podcast (a part of the Morbidly Beautiful Podcast Network) join the show. We are right between Halloween and Thanksgiving. So, we talk about one movie that is made for the spooky month and one that is just all about the holidays. But did they get the job done?

ABOUT THIS EPISODE (146):

We start with a talk about one of the most daring movies of the year. Titane is frightening, poignant, and delightfully confusing. We talk about the film’s themes, its brave take on gender, and why it is better to be a firefighter in France. Candance also talks about her experience with haunts.

We then move on to our featured review.

Night at the Eagle Inn is a great name for a horror movie. It is just a question of whether it is for the entire family or just a straight-up scary story. The story involves twin magic, deals that should not be made, and a to-the-point story. Did it all come together in a satisfying way?

Finally, it’s time for our movie spotlight.

Even the combined efforts of Bruce Campbell and Devon Sawa could not stop us from tearing Black Friday apart. When it comes to horror, shallow character and a paper-thin plot isn’t always a bad thing. In fact, these cliches of the genre often add to a film’s charm. So, why did it not work here? What went wrong?

More importantly, was there anything good about the film? Is it worth checking out? Despite its faults, is it destined to become a holiday horror favorite?

You can rent both Night at the Eagle Inn and Black Friday right now on most VOD platforms.
