Fans of true paranormal tales and encounters with the unexplained should check out the excellent “Monsters Among Us” weekly call-in podcast.

As we celebrate the spookiest time of the year, I’m thrilled to bring you something truly special this Halloween. In this month’s edition of Monster’s Toy Box, we’ll be discussing the ever-growing fan-favorite podcast, Monsters Among Us. Buckle up and enjoy the ride, as we dive into the captivating world of the paranormal.

Have you ever observed something so strange it defies all explanation? Perhaps you’ve seen something scary lurking in the shadows that doesn’t seem to make any sense? Or maybe you were visited by something you can’t quite understand? If that sounds like you, this is a podcast you absolutely do not want to miss. It’s packed to the hilt with terrifying real-life encounters that are sure to raise a few hairs.

The show is a place where people can go to share and voice the experiences they’ve had with ghosts, monsters and other unexplained phenomena.

Listeners are treated to genuine, authentic accounts of the paranormal, straight from the mouths of the witnesses themselves.

Monsters Among Us is owned and operated by Cryptid Crate proprietor and resident expert on the television show Paranormal Caught on Camera, Derek Hayes. While there are other similar call-in podcast shows based on the supernatural, there are none better than MAU. The stories told by fans and callers are uninterrupted, vetted by experts and definitely out of this world.

Hayes takes every report seriously and does his best to provide reasonable alternative explanations for each story, if the opportunity presents itself. He remains neutral and unbiased; part true believer, part skeptic. He’s compassionate and understanding, and very well versed in every area of cryptozoology. So much so, he’s even coined his own cryptid, the Mirrored Men (MM shirts and other merchandise available for purchase in the online store.)

The podcast features tales of giant insect-like creatures, mysterious unidentified flying objects and lights, ghosts, cryptids, and even urban legends and local lore.

MAU is the perfect companion for those late-night scare sessions. However, be warned, there are some downright eerie accounts that will likely leave many fans scared, mystified and possibly distraught.

The only problem the show seems to have is the lack of callers sharing their individual stories. There’s a pretty solid mixture of people calling in and people writing in. However, when a story is submitted via email, it doesn’t seem to have the same impact as it does when someone uses their actual voice to tell the tale. The reports submitted through email are usually read out loud on the show by Mr. Hayes, or occasionally MAU’s stand in voice actor, Warren P. Abbott.

So, if you’re in need of a weekly midnight monster fix, or just some scary entertainment, the Monsters Among Us Podcast has you covered. You can subscribe to the show an Apple podcasts and click here to join the Facebook group for fans of the show.
