Morbidly Beautiful

Your Home for Horror

Posts

In an effort to spotlight more creative talent, we’re proud to introduce the addition of original horror fiction and horror art/photography to this site.

Here at Morbidly Beautiful, we’re interested in always progressing and building the site and team into areas that we all feel could be embraced more often. You can read about the latest horror trailer at every site, and that’s just a fact. We try to offer our own individual approach to horror news, articles and genre journalism in general.

It’s in that spirit that we are so very excited to announce our decision to expand our offering by stepping into the world of original, short horror fiction.

We know there’s an incredible wealth of writing talent out there, and the opportunities to share that work broadly on a professional platform — with an engaged audience — are few and far between. We are thrilled to have an opportunity to bring more horror fiction writers into the Morbidly Beautiful family and offer our readers more original, compelling genre content they may not find on other genre sites.

Coming as a recurring series called BLOOD ON THE DIGITAL PAGE, we’re going to accept short fiction submissions to be published on the site.

We will also be featuring artists and photographers who would like to submit their work to accompany our featured stories.

Our goal is to give up-and-coming writers and artists a venue to showcase their work. I’ll be overseeing the series as editor, and I’m greatly looking forward to helping curate original horror content for this site — giving a voice to the talented creators and independent authors who help make our genre great.

Specifics, you ask? Read on!

If you have a short story you’d like to submit, or if you’d like to have your original art or photography featured alongside our fiction stories, click here to submit using our online form.

Because we strongly believe in intellectual creative property, all writers published on this site will retain full copyright to their work. Morbidly Beautiful makes no copyright claim. Our only goal is to give writers a platform to be seen and noticed and help those looking to establish a reputation in their field add publishing credits to their resume.

All we ask is that, if you bring the same story to another publication, mention that it was originally published on Morbidly Beautiful. If the story you submit to us has been previously published elsewhere, please note that in your submission details along with publication name and date.

We are so excited to read your stories and help give them a venue to be seen by passionate genre fans.

The Fine Print

  • We will not accept any stories that are homophobic, sexist or feature racism of any kind. Aside from those stipulations, it’s all fair game.
  • Generally speaking, we are looking for original, unpublished horror content. But we will consider republication in some cases, especially if the content first appeared on a personal blog/author site.
  • We will not accept stories that have not been thoroughly edited and which contain numerous spelling, grammar, or sentence structure errors. Content must be publication ready.
  • Because this is a not-for-profit site, we are unable to pay for content. Our intent is merely to give a platform for writers who wish to be published online and receive exposure for their work.
