  • Someone asked:
I found the name of the film: THE TAKING (2013) 1h17m "Two strangers must discover a way to escape a sinister family who wishes to sacrifice their souls to an evil presence." My original question submitted on March 15, 2024 5:56 pm, is reproduced below. The movie has very poor reviews, though I liked it. Classify as cosmic folk horror? Regardless, hope you and or other readers get a chance to watch it. As of this reply, it is free on the Roku channel. Hello, I'm trying to track down a horror movie I watched on Tubi, unfortunately I do not recall the title. I believe the horror film is an American or Canadian independent, made after the year 2000? The acting is good; I recall the movie has a shorter run-time. The part of the movie that I recall most was a woman being hunted and captured in the woods by a satanic cult (later to be joined by a male captive, though not germane to the story). Part of the movie is narrated by a devil/demon; the "voice" sounds like two pieces of metal being rubbed together, subtitled in English. The devil/demon's voice speaks to how futile the woman's efforts and existence is. While the woman is captured, tied to a tree, a witch (I presume) informs the woman she will be sacrificed in a few days. The witch has blackened fingertips, as if dead. Eventually, the woman escapes and becomes confused trying to navigate the forest. The woman is then advised on an escape route by the spirit of her dead daughter (heard but not seen.) Thank You, Horror film fanatic

  • Someone asked:
Does Mike Digrazia ever sign his illustrations? I have a 2017 sharknado hand drawn illustration that was signed in 2017. Thanks
    • Stephanie Malone replied:
I’m not sure. But you could try reaching out to him on Instagram @digmovieart or contact him via his website (there is an email address) at https://www.digraziart.com/. I’m sure he can help you out and verify the authenticity of those signed prints.
  • Someone asked:
Hi, there's supposed to be a color film with a floating skull chasing someone up the stairs. When I checked the listing, AMC claimed it was "the screaming skull". I've seen this film, and it has no such scene, plus this film was in color. Do you know what it is? Thanks.
    • Stephanie Malone replied:
Do you remember any other details about the film? Do you know how recent or old the film is? The scene you're referring to might be from the horror film "The Haunting" (1999), directed by Jan de Bont. In this movie, there is a scene where a character is chased up the stairs by a floating skull. It's a modern adaptation of the classic horror novel "The Haunting of Hill House" by Shirley Jackson. It's currently on Pluto TV for free with ads if you're in the US and want to see if that's it. The scene occurs approximately halfway through the film. It takes place during a sequence where characters are exploring the haunted mansion and encounter various supernatural phenomena. If that's not it, let us know, and we'll keep digging. Either way, it's a pretty fun film!

Hello! This is Stephanie, Morbidly Beautiful Editor-in-Chief. Honestly, we retired our program as we could never find the right person to help us get and keep it off the ground. However, I would LOVE to revisit this with the right person. If you think that's you, would you send me a separate message that goes to me directly? I'm at editor at morbidlybeautiful dot com. I'd love to chat and think this would be an awesome initiative to reboot this year, especially in honor of our recent eight-year anniversary!

Hey Man, great site. Got a Tubi Tuesday recommendation for you called: Foot Finding Feats Bigfoot Found or Fraud 2022. It's about a headcase trying to find Bigfoot but there isn't much Bigfoot. Screwy.

Thanks for the recommendation! We will add this to the review queue and try to post our thoughts soon. We appreciate you!
