Guilty Pleasures Game Day (Meet the Hosts)

We want to play a game! Guilty Pleasures is back with new hosts, and our kick-off minisode will help you get to know the new players.

We are thrilled to announce Guilty Pleasures 2.0, a reboot of the popular podcast on the Morbidly Beautiful network. When the show’s original host, Scott Murphy, decided to retire his jersey, he passed the torch to three new players: Morbidly Beautiful writers Stephanie Malone, Kelly Mintzer, and Jack Wells.

In this brief mini-episode, Stephanie’s Cheer and Loathing co-host, Casey Chaplin, was kind enough to join as a special guest host, leading the Guilty Pleasures crew through a series of rapid-fire trivia and get-to-know-you questions. He even helps psychoanalyze the trio based on their questionable answers, and it’s terrifying!

Our cocktail of choice for our Game Day episode is a Gatorade Margarita. It’s sinfully good and so easy to make. So, if you’d like to imbibe alongside us, here’s how to do it.

GAME DAY GATORADE MARGARITAS:

Mix 1/4 cup blue sanding sugar and 1/4 cup Kosher salt in a bowl. Set aside. 

Combine a 20-ounce bottle of blue sports drink, such as Cool Blue Gatorade ®, chilled, 1 cup thawed frozen limeade concentrate, 1 cup silver tequila, and 1/3 cup Blue Curaçao in a pitcher. Stir. 

Use extra lime juice to wet the rim of the glasses and dip in the sugar/salt mixture (optional). Add ice. Pour in the alcohol mix. Garnish with an orange slide if desired.

When not putting pen to paper or mouth to the microphone, Jack spends time with his sweet but quirky family, taking late-night road trips, enjoying a cigar, and sipping whiskey by his fire pit (because, as everyone knows, all work and no play…).

STEPHANIE MALONE

The better half of the Cheer and Loathing podcast. She’s passionate about movies, good grammar, graphic design, and cats. This fiery redhead hails from Texas, but don’t hold that against her. ABOUT THE SHOW:

Each month, your hosts will choose a new theme and place two modern Guilty Pleasure films up in a head-to-head battle. And you, the listener, get to decide who will be victorious. These films may not be all that great, at least by critical standards, but we can’t help but love them anyway. Whether we’re talking about so-bad-they’re-good turkeys or legitimately enjoyable but unfairly maligned masterpieces, we promise it will be a blast. We’ll also be enjoying themed cocktails you can imbibe right alongside us.
