Morbidly Beautiful

Your Home for Horror

This week on the cast, Chaos & Carnage throw a plague party, and you’re invited! Put on your dancing shoes and join us for “The Masque of the Red Death”.

Stare into this podcast and count if you can the orgies of evil.

At this podcast, we love and  embrace all colors of the rainbow. Okay, maybe not red, since red means death this week. But usually all colors are welcome here. And Vincent Price is always welcome here, too, whether we liked the particular film of his or not.

If you are a new listener to the PaNcast, be aware there are spoilers and expletives ahead! We break down the movie, go through a summary, offer analysis, trivia, arbitrary awards, reviews, ratings, fanfiction and more!

“Batshit prince allows certain people and prisoners refuge against the red death sweeping through the area, and shit goes really awry.” – Carnage’s Five Second Summary

Okay, we are opening the floor up on this classic movie, The Masque of the Red Death. Listeners, friends, tell us what you think. Are Chaos and Carnage in the minority with this flick? Will villagers ram their castle with….like rams and pitchforks? Will they be burned at the stake for their opinions on this film? Will you, dear listeners and friends, be saddened by us? Or do you agree with our disappointment with this film? Either way, we hope you enjoy our antics no matter what.

This week, The Masque of Red Death looks at two short stories of our leader and mentor, Edgar Allen Poe (this is a joke for legal sake), and one short from Auguste Villiers de L’Isle-Adam. It then it puts it in a Kitchen Aid mixer (#notsponsored) and makes sure to sift out what writers didn’t want — coming up with this movie. With a new urban legend created by Carnage, movie sets that our high school recycled in the 90s, and a couple of questionable casting choices, what could possibly go wrong?

Go check out The Masque of the Red Death if you mind being spoiled like villagers who have been given rabies.  Then make sure to check out this week’s episode for the info from Chaos and Carnage.

The Masque of the Red Death is streaming on Shudder.
