Ahead of its Halloween theatrical release, we’re thrilled to share this exclusive clip of the new old school slasher homage “Director’s Cut”.

We previously shared our enthusiasm for the upcoming slasher throwback Director’s Cut, written and directed by music video veteran Don Capria in his feature film directorial debut.
In the film, which arrives in select theaters on Halloween ahead of a VOD release, a Long Island punk band meets a mysterious director (The Sopranos‘ Louis Lombardi) through social media. He generously offers to shoot their first music video for free. Desperate for fame, they drive deep into the Pennsylvania woods in hopes of making a killer music video. But after a long night of drinking with the gregarious director, the band wakes up to find a very different version of him on set.
Soon, the mysterious director unveils a dark side that turns the band members into unwitting stars of his very own snuff film.
Capria’s background as an artist manager and music video director-producer has us excited for this sexy, seedy exploration of the dark side of the music industry. He’s someone who knows and understands this world, and we’re excited to see him explore the intersection of ambition and exploitation.
Though this is Capria’s first feature film, he’s already proven himself as a writer-director.
As a writer, he is best known for his true crime biography, Colombo: The Unsolved Murder, based on the life of mob icon Joe Colombo. In 2014, he wrote and directed an award-winning short film, Eulogy. In 2019, he filmed the pilot for his scripted TV series, Abaddon, starring Erika Alexander. In 2021, he wrote and directed his award-winning short film, Anecdota, a post-apocalyptic horror starring 11-year-old newcomer Bella Grace.
We previously shared the film’s wild trailer, but we’re now thrilled to share an exclusive clip featuring Brandy Ochoa as band member Menace and Louse Lombardi as the mysterious and oh-so-creepy Mister Director. In this scene, Mister Director shares his vision for the band’s music video with Menance, which involves her chaining herself up. Something tells us this will not go well for her.
You can check out the exclusive clip from Director’s Cut below. And stay tuned for our full review of the film coming shortly.
