Thanksgiving

SHOW NOTES FROM YOUR HOST DONNA:

In the first part of my two-part turkey time celebration, I get excited to see Eli Roth’s Thanksgiving and share a short list of some other films that take place during that holiday time — be it an escaped slasher visiting a family for some turkey, killer twin fun with cranberry sauce, a little modified turkey meat, a killer bird or some rabid Black Friday shoppers. Pull up a chair and fix a plate of some weird holiday horror films. This is a short and spoiler-free episode, btw.

Listen above, then head below for part two, where I dish on Eli Roth’s addition to our Thanksgiving horror plates.

PART TWO: THANKSGIVING IS HERE!

In this episode, I’m talking all about Eli Roth’s Thanksgiving (2023), based on Roth’s fictitious trailer of the same name from Grindhouse (2007). It’s a surprisingly well-received (by both critics and audiences) slasher that actually gives horror fans a satisfying Thanksgiving holiday horror film. Do not worry; it is a spoiler-free review. I also get in a tiny rant about the holidays, but it’s mostly a slasher TED talk. Bring your plates and come sit at the table with me and The Carver.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my lovely listeners; may your plates always be full of nourishment for your body, soul, and horror heart!
