The ’90s were really a “Scream”, and that’s why Candace and Ariel are revisiting the VHS era with a couple of mega-hits and a great guest.

THIS EPISODE: “SCREAM” (1996) AND “I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER” (1997) WITH LAUREN MCKENZIE

We know the ’90s are back, and we’re fully embracing it in this episode; you’re welcome!

Candace and Ariel are talking to our guest Lauren McKenzie about Friends, the WB, the Clinton scandal, and of course our Kevin Williamson double feature: era-defining meta slasher Scream (1996) and its entertaining but underwhelming follow-up, I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997).

Can you The Secret-style manifest meeting your heroes? Should you? Are David Arquette and Freddie Prinze Jr. the same person? Does podcasting require jazz-hands at all times? Did Rose McGowan do Columbine? And who is Dawson? You’ll have to listen to find out.

Other relevant and not-so-relevant topics covered include Wes Craven ambivalence, The L Word, Anne Heche among many other tragically misunderstood 90’s women, the heyday of Sarah Michelle Gellar (justice for Helen Shivers!), and the joy of horror that caters to female audiences.
