Tremors

Sure, things are bad. But Chaos, Maverick, and Kevin Bacon are here to remind you that it’s not ‘giant, man-eating worms’ bad. Not quite yet.

Life is far from ideal in a town called Perfection. And it’s about to get a whole lot more turbulent.

ABOUT THIS EPISODE:

The monster movie that breaks this podcast.

This week on They Mostly Podcast at Night, grab your poles for vaulting and throw some pipe bombs in a bag because the giant subterranean worms are coming, and Chaos and Maverick are taking you to higher ground for this week’s movie, Tremors!

If you are a new listener to the PaNcast, be aware there are spoilers and expletives ahead! We break down the movie, go through a summary, offer analysis, trivia, arbitrary awards, reviews, ratings, fanfiction and more!

“Giant worms attack Kevin Bacon… and things go awry.” (Five second summary)

In the tiny town of Perfection, Nevada, Val and Earl are handymen who are tired of the daily struggle to not be broke. Finally, a disgusting garbage job for one of the valley’s residents is just one too many, and they vow to head to the next city, Bixby, to pursue better futures… until they discover the first body. And then the second.

Giant underground slithering monsters are giving the valley the shake down, and they don’t intend on letting anyone leave until they are all devoured. Though rattled, the residents are determined to survive, and spend the movie playing The Floor Is Lava to keep away from the subterranean serpents.

Will they make it to the mountains? Or will their plan fall apart? Go watch and return to us to join for all the genre bending, creature feature fun in Tremors!

Check out the trailer for Tremors below. And if you haven’t seen it, or if it’s been a while, be sure to catch up on the film before listening to this spoiler-y podcast. It’s currently streaming on Netflix (along with all of its sequels).

Join us next week for the oh so appropriate discussion of Contamination, currently streaming on Prime and Shudder. Our special guest will be Morbidly Beautiful Editor-in-Chief Stephanie Malone.
