Join us on the podcast as we torture ourselves with some Sawtober fun in celebration of the best month of the year, talking “Saw” 1-3.

This podcast wants to play a game with you.

ABOUT THIS EPISODE:

Welcome to Sawtober!!!! Chaos and Carnage are so excited to welcome a new October! Since it is our favorite month, we must celebrate with a horror series. And this year, it is Jigsaw and his games that he wants to play with you. Chaos and Carnage also want to play with you, but perhaps in a way a little less messy and bloody.

If you are a new listener to the PaNcast, be aware there are spoilers and expletives ahead! We break down the movie, go through a summary, and offer analysis, trivia, arbitrary awards, reviews, ratings, fanfiction, and more!

”Two men get kidnapped, chained in a bathroom, and things go awry.” – Carnage’s Five-Second Summary.

Of course, we have to start off Sawtober with the OG, 2004 Saw, where we get introduced to integral characters like Jigsaw, Amanda, and Billy the Puppet. And only the best movies have a puppet involved.

So “SOMEONE” wants to play a game with Adam and Dr. Lawrence Gordon. To do so, they drug them, kidnap them and chain them up in a basement. Sounds like Carnage’s normal Saturday night, right?

Arguably the tamest of all the Saw films and the one with the best(?) story as well. But the Sawtober train of torture will not be stopped at just one film.

We continue the madness by also diving into the next two films in the original trilogy.

Jigsaw, closer to death than in the last movie, has now kidnapped a whole batch of new people and put them in a trap-filled house. It’s kind of like a fun house but for sadists. And all this work and victims just to bring Det Eric Matthews into his own trap. Talk about a huge amount of collateral damage.

Detective Matthews even manages to live to the next movie, where he starts us off very much how Adam and Dr. Lawrence started two movies ago, chained up in the same bathroom. Ah, that’s what we like to see in a movie, regression. Well, at least we only spend a small time with him. Soon we are dumped into Jeff and Lynn’s parallel stories.

One is on a series of tests to see if he can forgive the people involved in his son’s death, while the other is on a futile mission to save Jigsaw.

Make sure to check out Saw 1-3, so you aren’t spoiled like those people who take their life for granted.
