Deathgasm is a 2015 New Zealand comedy horror film written and directed by Jason Lei Howden in his feature directorial debut. The film follows the titular teenage heavy metal band who acquire an ancient piece of sheet music and unwittingly summon an evil entity known as “The Blind One”.
Now, the world of heavy metal and horror will soon get louder, bloodier, and more frenzied after the successful, highly anticipated crowd-funding campaign for Deathgasm 2: Goremageddon. Over the years, Deathgasm has built up a tremendous cult-like following, so now fans can play an active role in bringing the sequel to life and unleash a new wave of head-banging chaos to the world.
Director Jason Lei Howden (Deathgasm, Guns Akimbo), known for his knack for blending horror and humor seamlessly, is back at the helm to ensure the sequel delivers a relentless onslaught of gore, laughter, and demonic mayhem.
With over 2,000 backers, the film is now fully funded. However, if you still want to be a part of making indie movie magic and picking up some KILLER MERCH, late backers are being accepted here.
Jason is also a VFX artist and has worked at Weta Digital, Iloura, Method Studios, and Park Road Post. His VFX credits include The Avengers, Prometheus, The Hobbit Trilogy, The Great Gatsby, The Wolverine, Man of Steel, and War of the Planet of the Apes.
