On this episode of the “Adventures in Movies!” podcast, get up close and personal with your hosts as they look at the lure of the 3-D movie.
ABOUT THIS EPISODE (112):
It seems like all the movie news these days revolves around changing release dates and what is coming to streaming networks. Your hosts discuss the latest release date changes, including Black Widow and Spiral: From the Book of Saw.
They then get into our featured film spotlight, with a review of Enhanced.
Enhanced is a science fiction movie about a man who hunts mutants. While looking for one, he begins to wonder if they are as evil as he has been taught. Meanwhile, another mutant goes on a killing spree leading to an unlikely team-up. It may not be the most original story, but that doesn’t mean it can’t still be a good movie. Right?
The Fallout was a big hit at this year’s SXSW. In the film, High schooler Vada navigates the emotional fallout she experiences in the wake of a school tragedy. Relationships with her family, friends, and view of the world are forever altered.
The film won the jury and audience awards for Best Narrative Film, while director Megan Park won for Best Director. In our featured interview, Nathaniel speaks with Park about her emotional film.
Finally, your hosts move on to this week’s main segment, discussing 3-D movies. The guys try to figure out why the movies keep coming back, how 3-D almost ruined horror for Nathaniel (and how the genre provided one of his favorite moments), and whether it will ever go away.
