The highly commercial “Hellraiser III” was well-received by critics and fans, marking a high point in the franchise before things go downhill.
In this week’s horror review, we open the box again and let Pinhead loose for “Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth” from 1992! Join Josh, Donny and Professor Smoak (Will is out sick) as we continue our trip through the HELLRAISER series!
Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth was released in 1992 and marks the third installment in the Hellraiser series. It was directed by Anthony Hickox and once again stars Doug Bradley as Pinhead, along with Terry Farrell, Paula Marshall, and Kevin Bernhardt. Ashley Laurence, who starred in the previous two films, has a cameo.
Following the events of Hellbound: Hellraiser II, in which the demon Pinhead (Bradley) is imprisoned in a statue, he resurrects himself by absorbing the life force of unlucky humans. After converting several power-hungry youths into new Cenobites, Pinhead goes on a rampage, opposed by a reporter and the spiritual manifestation of his good half (also Bradley).
