On this week’s episode of Cheer and Loathing, we discuss childhood trauma and the perils of trying too hard with “Ma” and “May”.
THIS EPISODE: “MA” AND “MAY”
This podcast has a lot of pretty parts, but no pretty wholes.
You haven’t seen Trauma?! This week, we discuss what happens when childhood trauma takes two women from socially awkward to sociopathic. First up is a B-movie Blumhouse production inexplicably featuring an Oscar-winning actress, followed by a smart, cult indie darling featuring a Fangoria Chainsaw-winning actress. It doesn’t make any sense, but we’re here for it! Join us in our basement as we party down with Ma and May (or, as Casey calls it, MayMa), and see if we can get drunk enough to ignore all the warning signs.

In the U.S. where Stephanie is, Ma isn’t streaming anywhere for free, but you can rent or buy it on most VOD platforms. The same goes for Canada where Casey resides. May is free with ads on Tubi, Redbox, and Pluto TV in the US. In Canada, you’ll have to rent it for a small fee.
May Queen Month concludes on May 30th as we try to bewitch you with a chat about The Witch and The Love Witch.
