Few franchises have the kind of supernatural hold over me that Godzilla has. For me, there is nothing like seeing the King of the Kaiju large and in charge on the big screen.

I do prefer the Japanese interpretation of Zilla, especially when he’s on the side of pure destruction (both Shin Godzilla and Godzilla: Minus One were extraordinary and breathtaking spectacles to behold), but you can bet I’ll still be seated when he makes his return to American soil, once again sharing the screen with another homegrown iconic beast, King Kong.

In fact, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is easily one of my most anticipated films of 2024, matched in anticipation only by Alien: Romulus.

The film’s new original song, Beast Mode, just dropped before its arrival in theaters on March 29th. It features hip-hop’s rising stars BigXthaPlug and Ro$ama in a Texas-sized collaboration to create the signature sound for the upcoming Warner Bros. Pictures film.

Beast Mode is a collaboration that creatively intertwines BigXthaPlug and Ro$ama’s signature sound with the epic grandeur of the Godzilla x Kong franchise.

Their raw energy and unique artistic vision perfectly tie together the colossal battles and unforgettable characters of the film for the ultimate monster verses.

You can check out the new track at the end of this article.

The epic new film Godzilla x Kong pits the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence – and our own. It promises to delve further into the histories of these Titans, their origins, and the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond.

If that’s not enough to get you excited, horror fans should take note the film will be helmed by indie icon Adam Wingard, the man behind You’re Next, The Guest, Blair Witch (2016), and Godzilla vs. Kong. It also stars a couple of genre heavyweights, Rebecca Hall (Resurrection, The Night House) and one of my favorites, Dan Stevens (The Guest, Cuckoo).
