This week on the podcast, join Chaos and Carnage as they kick off Kingapalooza 2019 while chatting “Children of the Corn” with special guest Just Joe.
ABOUT THIS EPISODE:
In their world, adults are not allowed to podcast.
Welcome to the start of our yearly themed month of October! This year, we are bringing you Stephen Kingapalooza, a celebration of movies adapted from King’s novels in the 1980s!
In this episode of They Mostly Podcast at Night, grab your creepy folk art and meet Chaos and Carnage behind the rows for this look at what probably would happen if twelve-year-olds were allowed to be preachers and lead cults surrounding the worship of a type of grass. Yeah, corn is just grass. But definitely the most demonic of all grasses, as Stephen King well knows.
If you are a new listener to the PaNcast, be aware there are spoilers and expletives ahead! We break down the movie, go through a summary, offer analysis, trivia, arbitrary awards, reviews, ratings, fanfiction and more!
“Sarah Connors goes to Nebraska… and things go awry.” – Carnage’s five second summaries.
Burt and Vicki are a married couple on vacation on their way to California. While driving through miles and miles of corn fields in rural Nebraska, a child leaps out in front of their car, causing an accident. At first, the couple fear they’ve killed the strange child in overalls, but Burt begins to think the boy was somehow already dead before the collision.
Miles from anywhere, they put the boy in the trunk and go looking for help. A service station owner tells them to avoid the closest town, Gatlin, but when they are back on the road, they have a very hard time doing so, as it seems that everywhere they try leads to the small ghost town.
The audience soon learns what happened to Gatlin, but Burt and Vicky are going to have to learn the hard way… and may not escape with their lives…
Check out the trailer for the film below. And tune in next Monday for the next installment of Kingapalooza, Maximum Overdrive, with guest Just Joe!
