ABOUT THIS EPISODE:

There are 30 days of night in Barrow, Alaska every year. False! There are 65-67. About 250 residents live in Barrow. False! There are over 4000. Vampires think Barrow is the best vacation spot. False! They prefer Iceland (a little bat told me this). Bears, beets, Barrow is really called Utqiagvik.

If you are a new listener to the PaNcast, be aware there are spoilers and expletives ahead! We break down the movie, go through a summary, offer analysis, trivia, arbitrary awards, reviews, ratings, fanfiction, and more!

“Vampires descend on a little Alaskan town. Meet Josh Hartnett and things go awry.” Carnage’s Five Second Summary.

Fourteen years ago, in a galaxy far far away, a young(er) Chaos and Carnage were settled in a darkened movie theatre excited to watch the new vampire movie that just came out, 30 Days of Night. Fast forward to two hours later, our intrepid hosts left the theatre as they grumbled at each other that they should have walked out in the middle of this movie.

While we cannot remember why we hated this movie for the last decade and a half, we are here to give it another shot. There is a lot of horror movies that we have watched over the last 4 years alone for this podcast, let alone the crap we watch just for funsies or just to torture the other one.

In a remote town of Alaska, the small numbered amount of townspeople are getting settled in for the next thirty days of no sun. What they don’t realize is that vampires have also decided to ride out the next month in their little hamlet as well.

Add an unnecessary romantic subplot, and you have 30 Days of Night.

Make sure to watch 30 Days of Night So you aren’t spoiled like the rotting flesh these vampires just leave everywhere. Then join Chaos and Carnage to get the upgraded and mature review from them. Well, as upgraded and mature as they get.

30 Days of Night is streaming for free on Amazon Prime.
