Jigsaw and Spiral

We say sayonara to Sawtober on the podcast by torturing ourselves one last time with the latest in the “Saw” franchise, “Jigsaw” and “Spiral”.

Are you worthy of this podcast?

ABOUT THIS EPISODE:

We finally come to the end of Sawtober. It is a bittersweet end….actually, it’s a very sweet end. We are so glad to bring this series to a close. As much as Carnage loves Jigsaw, his counterparts have worn her down. And Chaos was done from the get-go. Thanks for being a good sport, Chaos! Also, double bonus, this episode also falls on our fifth anniversary. Celebrate with us!

If you are a new listener to the PaNcast, be aware there are spoilers and expletives ahead! We break down the movie, go through a summary, and offer analysis, trivia, arbitrary awards, reviews, ratings, fanfiction, and more!

”The Jigsaw timeline gets fucked up again, and things go awry.” – Carnage’s Five-Second Summary.

We jump right into a new timeline and new villain for Saw with Jigsaw. Besides having Tobin Bell make a surprise showing, this cast is all brand new. It’s kind of like Bourne Legacy, where the main character from the previous movies is only mentioned, and a new story is crafted. Just like Bourne Legacy, it doesn’t work so much here either. At least, it didn’t work for us; the Tomato Meter says fans loved this one.

Spoilers start from the very outset of this episode, so be sure to watch the movie before listening if you care about that kind of thing.

Next up is the Chris Rock-helmed Spiral, which is just basically a killing spree on more cops.

We got a new puppet, and they made the very odd choice of having Kermit the Frog voice the new Jigsaw killer. I mean, Kermit is just not scary. If you had to use any puppet to voice this, I would have chosen Animal personally. Maybe Rolf.

Let’s hope they don’t make any more movies with this voice or that puppet that looks like it came from a kindergarten class.

Make sure to check out Jigsaw and Spiral so you can finish up Sawtober like a champ and aren’t spoiled like those people who take their life for granted. Then make sure to head to the epic bitch fest of Chaos and Carnage. Jigsaw is streaming for free on Peacock. Carnage had to purchase Spiral. She has regrets.
