It’s Women in Horror Month, and we’re taking a WTF trip to idyllic Sweden to learn about trauma, bad boyfriends, and the art of sacrifice.

Let the podcast begin.

ABOUT THIS EPISODE:

W.T.A.F.?

Note to selves; do not make any friends with Swedes no matter how nice they seem. There is a 10% likelihood that they will offer you up to their cult as a sacrifice. If they don’t belong in a cult, then they are fine….unless they plan to sell you off to be hunted by rich people. Maybe just ask any Swede you meet what their game plan is. It can be like, “Hi, what’s your name, do you plan to take me to your mother country never to be seen again?”

If you are a new listener to the PaNcast, be aware there are spoilers and expletives ahead! We break down the movie, go through a summary, offer analysis, trivia, arbitrary awards, reviews, ratings, fanfiction, and more!

“The Village got together with The Wicker Man, moved to Sweden, added a lot more flesh and pubic hair and things went awry.”– Carnage’s Five Second Summary.

We continue our journey into Women in Horror Month with the Chaos pick, Midsommar. We follow our lead character, Dani, from America where her family tragedy (and holy shit what a tragedy that is) to Sweden where she joins her reluctant douche canoe of a boyfriend and his four friends.

There they plan to enjoy the special Midsommar festival that apparently only happens every ninety years….even though Pelle shows a picture of the previous year’s May Queen. But no worries. It’s a small picture thing. Just like the “love story” that is on open display (along with other rituals artistically done all around camp) showing the girl cutting her pubes and baking them into a pie. Not concerning at all. And btw, yum…please wait while I gag over in that corner.

Everything is fine. Everyone will get home safely. And even if they don’t, no one will worry if a whole group of people just disappears on vacation in Europe. Interpol is worthless.

Make sure to check out Midsommar to keep from getting spoiled like Christian who got the “special” meat pie. Then come over to Chaos and Carnage to find out the Actual Fuck just happened.

Midsommar is streaming on Amazon Prime.
