We enjoy some socially irrelevant fun with “Re-Elected” and embrace the highly effective micro-budget chiller “Cold Blows the Wind”.
We all already know the country has an awful choice to make. When your choice is a senile old white man or a crazy old man, is there a point in even making one? The answer is yes. Re-Elected from 2020 is a horror movie that knows exactly what it is. It’s a goofy, kind of dumb, but all-around fun watch that should not be (and doesn’t want to be) taken seriously.
You would think that a movie from this era involving dead presidents would have all sorts of social commentary. However, Re-Elected does not have one thing to say about what is happening in today’s world, and it is better for it.
For starters, this is not that type of movie. It’s not that horror cannot say anything relevant; it has always been light years ahead of other genres when it comes to that. It is more about some films being all about just turning off your brain and enjoying what you see at the most visceral level.

Next, it’s time for our featured new indie horror review: Cold Blows the Wind.
Cold Blows the Wind is an awesomely named indie horror movie that constantly punches above its weight. It is a micro-budget affair that is so good that it allows anyone watching to focus on the plot and characters instead of the value of the production.
Filled with great performances and writing, even noticeable missteps do not detract from the enjoyment.
We also discuss appropriate nudity. For years now, we have discussed how today’s cinema seems to fear being sexy, erotic, or just plain naked. The rub is that, when done right, nudity can add to a film, even when it can be argued that it is not completely necessary. But necessary and appropriate are two entirely different things.

Episode 373: ‘Mockbuster’ (2026)
We have spent years talking about how important The Blair Witch Project is. We discuss the pros and cons of the latest reimagining of the iconic found footage classic. And we are definitely interested. Plus, the latest internet horror fad that Hollywood wants to adapt into a movie. And while it does seem a little silly to us, they do have a strong director attached to it.
The Asylum has been putting out grade-A quality B movies for a long time. Sharknado may be their most well-known, but their specialty are mockbusters like Tomb Invader and Top Gunner. We could not wait to take a look at their inner workings.
Mockbuster does much more than that. Sure, there is plenty of footage from The Asylum library. And yes, all of it is amazing. The interviews with the people at the top of the company are also great. They know the score and are funny, entertaining, and informative.
But it is the documentary’s subject that is the beating heart of the film. Anthony Frith is one of the most charming people we have ever seen and we enjoyed watching his journey. Mockbuster ended up being an unexpected feel-good watch thanks to Frith and all of the incredibly supportive people featured.
On top of all that, we get to see how a movie from The Asylum gets made!
