Groovy News for Fans of “EVIL DEAD”… Ash is Back!

Last year, fans of The Evil Dead franchise saw a welcome return of Bruce Campbell and his boomstick in the Ash vs Evil Dead series which ran on Starz network. Set in the same universe as the film franchise, Ash returned to his past glory to once again stupidly read from the infamous necronomicon. (Read our season one review here.)

The show was created as a spin-off of the 1981 film The Evil Dead. It followed Ash Williams as he unleashed Deadites on the world once again by reading from the the necronomicon, threatening to bring about a Deadite apocalypse. The first season consisted of ten episodes that ran on the Starz channel in 2015 and was executive produced by the original filmmakers, Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, and Bruce Campbell. Craig DiGregorio served as executive producer, as well as well as show runner. Lucy Lawless, Ray Santiago, Dana DeLorenzo and Jill Marie Jones starred alongside Campbell.

Fans of the show can PRE-ORDER season 1 on DVD or Blu-ray now, to be shipped on August 23rd. Season 2 will air on Starz around Halloween of this year.

“Ash vs Evil Dead” Season 1 Synopsis:

30 yrs. has passed since Ash first had to battle Deadites. He successfully avoided growing up, and life couldn’t be better for him (considering he lives alone in a trailer home). That all changes when he accidentally unleashes Deadites unto the world once again by drunkenly reading from the necronomicon (or book of the dead). When the Deadites threaten to take over the world, Ash is forced to take his chain-saw hand out of retirement, join forces with newbies Pablo and Kelly, and kick some Deadite ass!
