Old school horror and sci-fi fans can rejoice, Cinema Wasteland is coming — bringing three packed days of movies and memorabilia.

Cinema Wasteland is an exciting, three-day festival celebrating the Drive-In Era of horror and sci-fi. The popular fest is making its triumphant return to Cleveland, Ohio the first weekend of April (3rd-5th).

Every year, the folks at Cinema Wasteland provide viewers with something truly unique. This year is no exception. Attendees will be treated to both a screening of the cult zombie classic Children Shouldn’t Play With Dead Things!, as well as a full cast and crew reunion.

This isn’t the only cult classic being shown during the weekend’s festivities.

Attendees can also look forward to movies such as The Haunting (1963) and Show Waves, with 16mm movies and videos being shown all weekend long. The fest works hard to cram in as many classic Drive-In movies, independent films and shorts as they can into a single weekend. You’ll find movies and shorts on real 16mm film in their 200 seat “Film Room” and all kinds of indy films, shorts, and guest related features in the smaller, 100+ seat “DVD projection Room” all weekend long.

And for those faint of heart, you can also enjoy the Saturday morning cartoon hour hosted by Son of Ghoul. That’s on top of the great celebrity guests, Q&A sessions, live movie commentaries, guest talks, and much more. Cinema Wasteland guests are always willing to interact with attending fans.

Every Cinema Wasteland Event offers attending fans over 60 hours worth of movies and special programming.

And all the great content is 100% free with the price of admission. It can be a bit overwhelming, so be sure to check out the complete Weekend Schedule of Films and Events before you arrive so you can plot out your weekend early. The Weekend Schedule is usually posted 3 or 4 weeks before any given show.

Tickets are available online and in person. For those doing their buying online, make sure to check out their authentic autographed memorabilia area. There’s an item for sale for every type of horror fan. The convention itself will also have a massive dealer room, so bring extra cash and be sure to support these great merchants, artists, and small businesses.

The event is being held at the Holiday Inn in Strongsville, OH. Weekend VIP pass tickets are on sale for only $45 until March 6th. For those who procrastinate, tickets are $60 at the door. Single day tickets are also on sale for just $25 until March 6th. You’ll also be able to purchase single day tickets, based on availability, at the door. Friday tickets will be $25, Saturday tickets will be $30, and Sunday tickets will be $15.

Cinema Wasteland takes place twice a year, every Spring (March/April) and Fall (September/October).

It’s always at the same hotel, so you can make plans in advance to attend. The Fall Show will take place this year from October 2nd through October 4th.

In addition, the amazing crew behind Cinema Wasteland is always hosting a variety of smaller events throughout the year. So make sure to check their website and join their email list for the most up-to-date information.
