Glimpse through The Weeping Glass for your daily dose of oddities. This truly unique shop in Pittsburgh, PA, offers everything from taxidermy to seances.

As you can probably imagine, this time of being shutdown and shut in has been especially hard on small businesses. And we here at Morbidly Beautiful would like to do everything we can to help out our fellow weirdos — from independent artists to entrepreneurs and small business owners. So we started this new series to spotlight some of our favorite shops that could really use your support…shops we think you’ll absolutely love.

This week, we want to introduce you to the quaint and wonderfully weird Pittsburgh-based shop specializing in the odd and macabre, The Weeping Glass.

The store functions partially as an oddity museum, showcasing a two-headed calf, a mermaid skeleton, and countless pieces of odd art. There’s plenty of art to buy, whether that be old school medical posters, beautiful creations of Madame Talbot, or even flowers made of human hair.

The biggest draw, however, is the shop’s taxidermy collection. You can buy various skulls and bones, porcupine quills, and coyote teeth — or even dig for bones yourself through owl pellets.

Besides being a truly beautiful store, The Weeping Glass also helps brings local weirdos together by organizing various events. This year, I was able to attend the winter solstice party, which featured a Mari Lwyd and plenty of drinks and food. The shop has also hosted unique events like creepy puppet shows and seances.

Sound up your alley? You can purchase from their website, or even just look through pictures and marvel at the atmosphere of the shop. Some of the items for sale include candles that double as stunning works of art, including scents and designs inspired by great authors of gothic literature like Poe, Lovecraft, Shelley, and Stoker.

World Dracula Day is May 26th — a day which commemorates the publication of Bram Stoker’s Dracula on May 26, 1897 — so it’s the perfect time to pick up the Stoker inspired 12oz, hand-poured soy wax candle with a cotton wick and 70 hour burn time. It smells like merlot and clove and arrives packaged in a beautiful black labeled box. It would make a perfect gift for the literary lover in your life, or as a way to treat yourself.

You can also pick up some witchy supplies like sage and palo santo, unique room and body sprays, apparel, jewelry, uncommon art, vintage books and more.

Fellow horror fiends, do yourself a favor and head to https://www.theweepingglass.com/s/shop to start shopping and help some fellow oddballs out.
