We chat with the incredibly talented and hard working triple threat of indie horror, actress / writer / director Brittany Blanton (37 min) (2.25.20).
Welcome to the Ominous Origins Podcast, a Horror Shots production. If you were previously a fan of the Horror Shots Podcast, this is the same great show with the same compelling content focused on myth, mysterious creatures, unexplained events, spooky stories — and even some of the strangest and most disturbing true crime stories. As always, our goal is to entertain, but also to enlighten with short, well-researched episodes on a variety of fascinating topics.
I hope you enjoy the show. If you would like to show your support, reviews on iTunes or wherever you listen to your favorite podcasts are always greatly appreciated and help out so much. THIS WEEK’S EPISODE:
DISCLAIMER: There were some technical difficulties with the audio in this episode. I do apologize for the quality of the recording.
Brittany Blanton is one of those people who always seems to have something big going on. She has the poise and presence of an industry veteran. Yet, she hasn’t been involved in film for nearly as long as she her expertise and professionalism might suggest. With her work ethic, passion, and commitment to seizing opportunities when they arrive, she truly embodies what Women in Horror Month is all about.
In just five short years, Brittany has been involved in 24 different projects, with many of those filming later this year. If that doesn’t scream work ethic, I don’t know what does.
I’ve had the pleasure of speaking with many talented women this month, and Brittany was one of the first interviews I recorded. However, even now, our chat stays with me. She leaves an impression on people, and that’s so important in the film industry.
With that said, I’m excited to see what her future brings. An upcoming film called Parallels looks to be a huge stepping stone in her career, not to mention all the many projects that are yet to come.
Beyond acting, Brittany has also stepped behind the camera a handful of times to show off her creative mind. Hopefully there’s more to come from her on that end as well.
You can find details about some of her work — including her biggest role to date in Don’t Fuck In The Woods (available on Google Play Movies and other streaming services) and future productions coming soon from the company she’s a part of — right here: https://conceptmediallc.com/home.
