A detective is sent to investigate a series of child murders in a small village where mistrust abounds in Lucio Fulci’s “Don’t Torture a Duckling”.

Remember the last time we followed the adventures of a detective trying to solve a mystery involving a child in a remote village with superstitious beliefs. Things didn’t end well that time. Will we get a happier ending this time around? Tune in to find out. But be warned, Fulci pulls no punches — even when he’s dealing with children.

ABOUT THIS EPISODE:

A classic tale of the perverse from this podcast.

This week on They Mostly Podcast at Night, Chaos and Carnage are thrilled to welcome their special guest, Erica, from the Customers Also Watched podcast! Erica, Chaos and Carnage urge you to dig up your voodoo dolls, hide your children, and prepare yourself for the largest Kittner Award we’ve ever given out: the whole movie!

Warning — we mean it — multiple child deaths ahead!

If you are a new listener to the PaNcast, be aware there are spoilers and expletives ahead! We break down the movie, go through a summary, offer analysis, trivia, arbitrary awards, reviews, ratings, fanfiction and more!

“They made a movie in Italian that I couldn’t understand… and things went awry.” (Five second summary)

In this episode of the PaNcast, Chaos and Carnage are joined by Erica for Lucio Fulci’s classic giallo. Fulci wrote and directed the film that has the graphic strangulation of a young boy, a witch living on the outskirts of town practicing voodoo, media circuses, a celebrity lying low after a drug scandal, vigilante idiots, priests with secrets, and a mute child who might just be able to break the case wide open for the detectives trying to make sense of it all.

They have too many dead kids, too many suspects and not enough answers… how many people will confess to these murders? Well, not the real murderer, that’s for sure. Not until the end monologue anyway! Can you guess who the real killer is before it’s revealed? Run off and watch this great crime mystery and then come back for our take!

More info on the film can be found below. Also, be sure to check out the Customers Also Watched podcast here.
