2023 is already a hell year, so let’s lean into it by embracing the twisted comic relief of “Hell Baby”; plus, we chat about 2022’s “Smile”.

Hell Baby

This podcast got a baby mama!

ABOUT THIS EPISODE:

It’s a boy! No, it’s a girl! Ope, nope, nope, it’s a Hell Baby! Either way, we are overjoyed to announce the arrival of this week’s episode. We are preparing the invites to our baby shower now, but rest assured you are all invited! Hint, hint, our gift registry just has one thing: iTunes reviews.

If you are a new listener to the PaNcast, be aware there are spoilers and expletives ahead! We break down the movie, go through a summary, and offer analysis, trivia, arbitrary awards, reviews, ratings, fanfiction, and more!

”Couple moves into murder house and things go awry.” – Carnage’s Five-Second Summary.

Jack and Vanessa have just moved into their new home in New Orleans. It’s a bit of a fixer-upper and has a neighbor named F’reshnel living REALLY close by. And by close by, we mean crawl space.

Actually, if Keegan-Michael Key was living in our crawl space, we really wouldn’t mind. He can even use our bathroom if he wants.

Unfortunately, what also came along with the house was a curse. Plus, it sadly attaches itself to Vanessa and her unborn twins. Well, at least one of the twins. But it is a fun curse that likes to have Vanessa smoke, drink, and help make bad things happen. All in good fun.

Before listening, make sure to check out Hell Baby, streaming for free on Netflix, so you aren’t spoiled like a firstborn Hell Baby.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:

Gray skies are going to clear up; put on a happy face. Shit. Wait… wrong movie. Whatever you do, don’t put on a happy face or smile. And if you are part of this podcast, we have no worries because we never smile. Smiling is our least favorite thing.

SMILE (EPISODE 243)

They say smiling is contagious. Apparently, so is this weird curse.

If you witness something traumatic, then you are susceptible to being a victim of this terrifying curse. Poor Rose witnesses not only her mother’s suicide but, later in life, she witnesses one of her patients committing suicide. This patient was in the mental hospital in the first place due to her witnessing a suicide. Now Rose is seeing similar images, including her disturbed patient’s last smile as she slit her throat.

Will she be the next to take her life?

Before tuning in, make sure to check out Smile, available to rent on Amazon Prime or streaming for free on Paramount Plus, so you are spoiled like that dead body in the body bag that smiled that one time.
