We are beyond honored to have recently been featured in an article on PopHorror.com, which profiled the “Top 7 Women Bloggers and Site Owners in Horror.”

The article was written by the talented female blogger, Tori Danielle, in support of Women in Horror Month. Tori highlights seven of her favorite women bloggers and site owners in horror. She asked each of the ladies a series of questions about writing and horror.

Our site founder and editor-in-chief, Stephanie Malone, was one of the ladies featured in the article. Additionally, our incredibly talented and passionate staff writer, Vicki Woods (Los Angeles Zombie Girl), also made the list. Vicki also writes for theblood-shed.com and gruemonkey.com. She has her own SFX company called Scattered Brains, makes incredible custom zombarbies, and does monster makeup for Knotts Scary Farm. She is also in the process of opening a horror-themed Bed and Breakfast in Salem, Oregon.

To have two of our own profiled in such a prestigious list, and among such incredible and inspiring company, is truly humbling.

When we started this website, one of our primary goals was to celebrate and recognize underrepresented voices in the genre. That includes exceptional low budget/indie films and filmmakers that, due to a limited or non-existent marketing and distribution budget, don’t get the exposure they so deserve. We also focus on fist-time filmmakers and rising stars in the genre…the ones we think you should watch because we believe they are the future of the genre. We also, of course, do our part to bring attention to women in horror — not just during Women in Horror Month, but all year long.

Not only do we actively and consistently promote female-driven films and female filmmakers and artists,  but we also have several extraordinary women bloggers writing for our site.

Don’t get us wrong…we love the men as well! But we are proud to be a site that has such a strong and diverse female writing staff. If you’re a woman (or man) looking to share your love of the genre by contributing written or video content for our site, we’d love to hear from you. Interested parties can contact Stephanie Malone at [email protected].

 From the article:

“Although I’m the founder of the site, I don’t call it “mine” anymore. It’s definitely a team effort, and the success we’ve had is owed in very large part to the talented people who had faith in me and my vision and agreed to be a part of it. Every single day, I’m blown away by what we’ve been able to build, and I could not be more proud to be a part of it.” – Stephanie Malone, founder Morbidly Beautiful
