Mutant ape-human hybrids and mad scientists may sound like a recipe for wild fun, but does the B-movie flick “The Rise of the Beast” deliver?

The Rise of the Beast (2022) | 1 hr 17 min | Monster Horror

SYNOPSIS: A group of activists break into a government facility in hope to expose what they’re doing, only to realise they are in more danger than they could have ever imagined, when a wild beast breaks free.

Join Jamie, Patrick, and Steph as they embark on a wild expedition through the depths of Tubi’s horror catalog, spinning the infamous Roulette of Despair.

This time, the theme is ”Animal Horror,” leading to a discussion of the bizarre film The Rise of the Beast, where a group of activists uncovers the terrifying consequences of animal testing gone wrong. As they dive into the film’s outrageous premise, the hosts dissect the absurdities of its plot, featuring a genetically modified gorilla wreaking havoc in a high-tech facility.

After dissecting this B-movie trashterpiece and delivering a dramatic film (hilariously bad) re-enactment, they offer up their suggestions for great, underrated animal horror films on Tubi you may have missed.

Finally, play along with them in a hilarious game of ”Beast or Bullshit,” where the hosts test their knowledge of outrageous B-movie horror/mutant monster film titles and plots. If you want to test your own knowledge before the show, head here.

Take a ciggy break and join us for another unforgettable journey into Tubi’s most obscure and monstrous hidden horrors.
