ABOUT THIS EPISODE:

On this episode, we discuss the connection between Horror Movies and Metal Music (including Hair / Power / Thrash / Grindcore / Death / Black / Gore / Extreme Metal and more). There are many ties between the two industries, and we look to explore them here. I’m honored to be joined for this discussion by filmmaker Mike Schiff, the man behind the highly anticipated upcoming documentary The History of Metal and Horror.

I’m also joined by 8-string guitarist Brian Wynn from the Death Metal band KILL EVERYTHING, as well as Morbidly Beautiful Staff Writer Jamie Marino. We discuss how the two mediums of horror films and metal music influence one another, how both have influenced us in our careers, why both seem to draw from the same audience, and how they both have shaped and changed their own genres over the years.

In addition to our featured discussion, we’ll be featuring more great content in our regular segments:

  • In our first Digital Dismemberment Spotlight, we will be reviewing Scream Factory’s Blu-ray release of Monkey Shines: An Experiment in Fear.
  • In our second Digital Dismemberment Spotlight, we will review Arrow Video’s FYE Exclusive Blu-ray Steelbook release of Wes Craven’s The Hills Have Eyes.
