Champions of Indie Horror, CryptTV, partner with Comicpalooza to Honor Emerging Talent in the Genre

Our amazing friends at CryptTV have experienced incredible growth this past year, easily establishing the online network as the Internet’s #1 source for original genre content. Co-founded by Eli Roth, CryptTV creates original genre content guided by its motto #WeirdIsGood.

At Morbidly Beautiful, we are huge supporters of indie film and the independent, renegade filmmakers who pour their heart and soul into making original, thought provoking, groundbreaking, and anti-establishment genre films. That’s one of the reasons we’re so proud to be a part of the CryptTV family, an organization dedicated to elevating the best, most enthusiastic up-and-comers in the industry.

This year, CryptTV will be presenting the Comicpalooza Film Festival at Compicpalooza in Houston, June 17-19. Comicpalooza, Texas’ Largest Comic and Pop Culture Event, features more than 22,000 hours of programming, 200 guest artists on the schedule and draws more than 40,000 fans to the George R. Brown Convention Center. Additionally, for the 4th year in a row, the popular convention will be presenting an outstanding program of narrative and animated feature length and short subject independent genre films. festival_cover_photo_cropped_4e08d4

Over 3 days, attendees will be treated to an amazing array of sci-fi, fantasy, horror, and experimental films at one of the largest and most prestigious Conventions in Texas. This year’s film festival will be extra special, as CryptTV will be presenting one lucky filmmaker with the Emerging Artist Award, the first of its kind. This award, presented for Creative Excellence in Filmmaking, includes a distribution deal from CryptTV.

The award will be presented on Saturday, June 18th at Comicpalooza, and we can’t wait to see who takes home the coveted prize. CryptTV promises that we can look forward to more future Emerging Artist Awards being presented at prominent film festivals worldwide. Check out CryptTV on Facebook, and sign up for exclusive contests and content on their website.
