Morbidly Beautiful

Your Home for Horror

Get ready for glorious gore, outrageous comedy, and face-melting power chords with the heavy metal horror comedy “Headbanger!”

With a unique vision and a passion for the horror-comedy genre, director Audie Harrison, along with co-writer Aaron Pfeifer, are bringing the independent feature film Headbanger! to life.

Set against the backdrop of the 1980’s Satanic Panic insanity, Headbanger! follows the hilarious chaos that ensues when a young metalhead turns the tables on his overbearing mother by hypnotizing her, unwittingly subjecting her to the horrifying suggestions of Heavy Metal.

This hypnotic heavy metal horror comedy from Strange Brain Films promises to deliver a genre-bending experience that pays homage to the golden age of Heavy Metal in the 1980s while delivering a wild ride that will have fans shrieking with laughter and terror all at once.

Director Audie Harrison had this to say about the film:

This film is about free will and the terrifying consequences of its absence. This film is about the true meaning and power of music. But most importantly, HEADBANGER! is about being the craziest, funniest movie you’ve ever seen!

She went on to describe the film as a “Heavy Metal fantasy” that is gruesomely gory and a horrific nightmare. However, it’s also a hilariously absurd farce — a frenzied blend of Rock N’ Roll High School, Evil Dead, and Airplane!

To bring this headbanging extravaganza to the screen, Strange Brain Films has launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo.

Enthusiasts of horror, comedy, and Heavy Metal are invited to become part of this thrilling cinematic adventure.

The campaign provides an opportunity for supporters to contribute and receive exclusive perks — including exclusive merchandise, VIP access to the face-melting soundtrack, and even a chance to be in the movie itself.

Although set in the 1980s, the filmmakers assure fans that this is a film with current and immediate relevance. The evils of censorship and irrational fears have only continued to grow and become more destructive since the harrowing days of the Satanic Panic.

Fueled by social media, news outlets, and deranged politicians, this hysteria is now a hot commodity. We are experiencing an unrelenting frenzy of book banning, hate crimes, anti-science, and anti-intellectualism in the name of unfounded “beliefs”.

The Satanic Panic and the fear of Heavy Metal that was rampant in the 80s and 90s might seem quaint and silly now, but it’s a poignant metaphor for today’s terror.

We believe HEADBANGER! has the potential to resonate with fans who crave a bit of absurdity served up with their horror,” says Audie. “It’s an over-the-top love letter to the music and movies of the 1980s, and we can’t wait to share this twisted and hilarious film with the world!”

Audie Harrison is an Emmy-award-winning director, producer, and writer known for his absurdist comedies spanning live-action and animation. His work has been showcased at prestigious events like Sundance, Cannes, and SXSW, and his contributions as a Supervising Animator earned an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects for the film The Golden Compass. His filmmaking resume includes the now legendary punk rock comedy The Last American and, most recently, writing, executive producing, and directing the highly acclaimed and groundbreaking Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo!
