We kick off Summer with a look back at the film that brought the Kaiju King to the Mainland, 1956’s “Godzilla, King of the Monsters”.

Godzilla King of the Monsters

We begin the Spookshow Summer Disaster series with Josh’s choice, “Godzilla: King of the Monsters!” (1956), the Americanized re-edit of “Godzilla” (1954) from directors Ishirô Honda & Terry O. Morse starring Raymond Burr.

Godzilla, King of the Monsters! was theatrically released in the United States on April 27, 1956, and was followed by an international release. The film was responsible for introducing Godzilla to a worldwide audience, as the 1954 film remained unavailable officially outside of Japan until 2004.
