Covid-19 has been in the news cycle all year. It was only a matter of time before movies about it starting coming out. While this has already begun, the guys talk about HBO Max’s upcoming release, Locked Down, and whether people are interested.
Hollywood is constantly talking about how it is becoming more inclusive. This has been a case of “I’ll believe it when I see it” for the most part. Surprisingly, there was a noticeable, if small, change in 2020.
The guys also look at Hunter Hunter. The IFC Midnight release is a survival horror that is story driven and very tense. It also has one of the most talked about endings in years.
This week’s main segment is rags to riches movies. Of course, there is Trading Places and Cinderella, but Danny, Blake, and Nathaniel talk about why these kinds of films are so popular. There is a discussion about how much audiences are willing to be preached to in films, plus some good old fashioned rich people bashing.
