On this episode of the “Adventures in Movies!” podcast, we return to the subject of Westerns and try to unravel the disaster of “The Empty Man”.
ABOUT THIS EPISODE (EPISODE 103):
The show starts with talk about another big announcement from a streaming channel. Shudder has announced their plans for the beginning of 2021, and they are exciting. We also talk about what we are looking forward to at Sundance, including an El Paso documentary and lots of horror movies.
The Empty Man will go down as one of the most mishandled movies of all time. The movie was promoted a week before its release, and even then the trailer did not accurately represent the movie. Danny, Blake, and Nathaniel try to unravel one of the most confusing movies in recent years.
The main segment this week is on Westerns. Your hosts try to cover the items brought up by listeners after a previous segment on the genre. We talk more about older Westerns, look to the future of the genre, and discuss why it has not had the lasting appeal of other genres.
