Vicky Tori Ella & Jasmine Martinez Personify “Inner Turmoil” in their Powerful and Artful PSA for Day 16 of the WiHM Massive Blood Drive

“It’s time for a brand new Women In Horror Month MASSIVE Blood Drive PSA (Public Service Announcement).  You can’t think horror without thinking blood so we took it upon ourselves to give back.  Every year we send out the call to filmmakers from around the world to create their own shorts urging the importance of blood donation.  And, yeah, they’re all horror themed as we all know horror fans are the most generous people on the planet.  This year we’ve made it bigger than ever with a record breaking 29 filmmaking teams from all around the world!” – Jen and Sylvia Soska

Today’s entry into the Massive Blood Drive PSA is a beautiful one. Written and Directed by Vicky Bagley, “Inner Turmoil” is a thoughtful, poetic piece with wonderful cinematography and an emphasis on being a hero — for yourself and for others.

Jasmine and Vicky are partners in film, with their brainchild of Rare Deviant Productions. Both share a deep love of  horror, each contributing to the genre in their respective loving ways.

Inner Turmoil

Vicky had this to say:

“Helping others has always been a priority of mine, even if that forces me to go out of my comfort zone.  For example, I’m terrified of needles, but when you know you could help save a life by donating your blood, the outcome is so much greater than your fears.”

Adding to what Vicky stated, Jasmine said this:

“I’ve been terrible at donating blood because of my phobia for needles. But when I was pregnant I learned not only that my blood-type was super important to people, but I learned how to stand up to my fear and take those goddamn needles anyways. Now is the time that I and everyone else who’s had some sort of bad excuse stand up and go Donate blood.”

Watch this extremely moving and exquisitely crafted short below. And stay tuned after the credits for a special message from the filmmakers.
