Essential listening: The wildly popular podcast from horror heroes Adam Green and Joe Lynch moves into epic territory, celebrating 300 episodes.

Filmmakers and Holliston co-stars Joe Lynch (Mayhem, Everly) and Adam Green (Hatchet, Frozen) celebrate a milestone this Monday. Their wildly popular podcast, The Movie Crypt, will be marking its 300th episode. Since May of 2013, these fellas have combined wit, knowledge, and passion with a furry friend named Arwen (Adam’s constant companion, who happens to be a freakin adorable Yorkie pupparoo), making it near impossible to pass up.

Every Monday, the trio serve up a really significant offering in all things storytelling and getting to know different artists and creators. It is not just horror though, and the hosts and guests all enthusiastically participate in an incredible array of topics, oftentimes becoming emotional.

Green and Lynch have taken on coveted conversations with the likes of Mick Garris, Joe Dante, Kane Hodder, Felissa Rose, Alexandre Aja, and Don Coscarelli just to name a few, but also help highlight some indie talents on The Movie Crypt such as Evan Glodell from the innovative Coatwolf Pictures and talented actress Alex Essoe (Starry Eyes).

In addition to several years of The Movie Crypt sharing personal stories from some of our heroes and helping inspire so many of us, Lynch and Green also choose to stay up for a ridiculous amount of time to save some dogs.

For the last three years, the team has conducted a Save The Yorkies 48-Hour Live Marathon on ariescope.com. The infectious slogan reads,”We’re staying awake… so that they don’t get put to sleep.” The latest marathon, which was in December, had an insane amount of guests and special treats. One of these treats was the unveiling of an unused script of The Mummy (with revisions by Mick Garris) written by legendary George A. Romero — read by Tiffany Shepis (Victor Crowley), James Duval (Donnie Darko), Jeffrey Reddick (Final Destination) and more.

It was an unprecedented event, and it was felt by all just how amazing of an opportunity that was. With the entire 48 hours stacked with stellar entertainment and guests, doing everything from comedy to special effects demonstrations, the Save The Yorkies Marathon and Arwen’s Silent Auction together raised about $36,000!

This accompanied by their latest achievement — reaching an incredible 300 episodes of the podcast — is definitely something Adam Green and Joe Lynch should be proud of. It is obvious they offer so much to fans and creators alike, consistently delivering content that countless enjoy.
