Through the month of June, the horror creators behind “My Favorite Horror Movie” are selling signed books to raise money for Black Lives Matter LA.

Produced and edited by horror filmmaker Christian Ackerman, the My Favorite Horror Movie book series is a ghoulish celebration of how the singular viewing of a horror film can inspire someone to find their identity and develop an obsession of dark arts.

Featuring contributors with various professional horror backgrounds such as filmmakers, actors, writers, directors, painters, musicians, journalists and film festival directors, the essays in My Favorite Horror Movie celebrate classic films from the likes of George Romero, John Carpenter, Sam Raimi, Tobe Hooper, Dan O’Bannon, Wes Craven, Alfred Hitchcock, and many more!

Each book in the series features 50 essays from 50 different creators who were inspired by a single film to make a living in horror. These filmmakers, writers, actors, musicians and artists cut deep into their psyches to illuminate us on the movie that sent them down a path of artistic mayhem and bloodshed — from Abbot & Costello Meet Frankenstein to Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and everything in between.

Contributors to this amazing series, include Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp), Jared Rivet (Are You Afraid of the Dark?), Mike Mendez (Tales of Halloween), Tiffany Shepis (Victor Crowley), Yan Birch (The People Under the Stairs), Aaron Mento (Ugly Sweater Party), Chelsea Stardust (Satanic Panic), Eileen Dietz (The Exorcist), Heidi Honeycutt (Etheria Film Night), Matthew Currie Holmes (The Curse of Buckout Road), and so many more.

There’s never been a better time to discover what cinematic horrors inspired some of your favorite legends and luminaries.

In solidarity with the current monumental civil rights movement, the team behind this compelling series are selling books to raise money for the Black Lives Matter LA organization.

Over 50 horror creators and My Favorite Horror Movie contributors gathered (in a responsibly, socially distanced way) to sign their respective chapters in the trilogy for a great cause. Each of the signed books is $25, which includes free U.S. shipping. The signers also generously donated DVDs, Blu-Rays. novels, CDs, stickers, and other goodies to be randomly placed into each shipment.

All proceeds will benefit Black Lives Matter LA, a movement of organized members committing their lives to the Black freedom struggle, while adopting a womanist/Black nationalist framework, with a queer and trans lens.

But you need to hurry! Sales only run through the end of June while supplies last — and they are close to selling out. Books are sold exclusively through MyFavoriteHorrorMovie.com
